Domenica started her sales and marketing career in newspapers in 1992, but by the late 1990s was at the forefront of the digital industry.
Having run and sold a digital marketing agency, Domenica entered the Chinese industry five years ago and is now a recognised Chinese digital consultant to a number of our larger clients, as well as an experienced public speaker.
When not consulting, Domenica leads the Emerging Communications management team, ensuring our work is the best in the industry.
When not working, you will find Domenica enjoying time with her daughter or practising yoga.
Melody is a co-founder of Emerging Communications. She has extensive experience in Chinese digital marketing, having worked for some of China’s and the UK’s largest and best-known agencies.
Melody is in charge of operations at Emerging Communications. Melody’s team manage client projects; ensuring projects run to time and budget, working closely with our account management teams. Melody’s teams are also responsible for managing supplier relationships, and planning and delivering our events and masterclasses.
In June 2018, she welcomed her first baby boy Gaia who is poised to become a great mountain climber!
Kirstie, a qualified management accountant, has more than 20 years of experience in businesses ranging from start-ups to large multi-nationals.
Kirstie plans and runs all of Emerging Communications’s financial operations, both in the UK and China, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Outside work Kirstie can be found at the gym or in the kitchen practising her sugar flower and cake decorating skills – when not running around after her two children.
Debbie, who spent more than 15 years in the recruitment industry, is responsible for the day-to-day running of Emerging Communications’ HR department.
She runs all recruitment and HR processes in the UK and China offices and ensures our teams are happy and motivated, which is paramount to delivering the best work.
Debbie also works closely with our retained immigration lawyers and is often seconded to advise on matters concerning employment of Chinese nationals or recruiting Chinese staff in-market.
When not at work, you will find Debbie swimming, cycling or running. She is an ex-international synchronised swimmer and has completed three Ironman-distance triathlons.
Jenny coordinates all of Emerging Communication’s projects, which reflects the growing client base and portfolio of services. She is involved in the “onboarding” of all new clients and helps plan projects across the agency.
Jenny also plans, manages and runs all of EC’s monthly China digital masterclasses and training workshops.
Her advanced knowledge of Chinese, coupled with a passion for marketing and helping businesses grow and succeed within the China market, make her a valuable member of the EC team.
Outside of work you’ll find Jenny at the gym, brunching around London’s eateries or travelling the world.
Rachel, with extensive experience in IT and Management Consultancy, heads up the Commercial division of Emerging Communications.
Rachel’s crucial role in EC covers all things commercial, legal, IT procurement, compliance, as well as general management of the company.
When not at work you’ll find Rachel catching up with friends and entertaining, walking the dog, acting as school governor, as well as running around after her children (short order of chef and taxi driver!)
Freya joined Emerging Communications in mid-2018 as the China Lead in our Shanghai office. She has extensive experience in the Chinese digital marketing field, having worked for internationally known advertising agencies and various famous brands prior to her arrival at the company.
Coming from a planning background, she is always seeking human insights and trying to understand how people think and react under different circumstances. She is also a strong advocate for integrated communications and believes that a well-developed and executed strategy can leave a lasting impression and create real value for a business.
Apart from serving both B2B and B2C clients across different categories, such as beauty, tourism, FMCG, luxury etc. she also played a crucial role in helping the EC China team expand quickly and find local partnerships over the past few years.
When not at work, you will find Freya enjoying her quiet time practicing yoga or traveling around the globe in search for amazing food and scenery.
Evonne started as a designer in 2003, and has since worked for some of the largest clients and agencies in China and London.
Bringing with her a wealth of design, account management and project management experience, Evonne leads the account management teams at Emerging Communications.
Evonne, who is bi-lingual Chinese, plans comprehensive digital strategies for global clients, ensuring campaign executions with a high standard, and managing key client accounts.
If that wasn’t enough, Evonne also leads our Chinese operations team, spanning paid search, creatives and Chinese web services.
When she is not working, you will see Evonne sampling the delights of Europe.
Rocky heads the Emerging Communications consultative services team.
With particular expertise in the education and B2B sectors, Rocky brings 9 years of Chinese digital marketing experience gained at the leading China’s agencies.
Rocky’s team provides bespoke consultancy solutions for clients, from market research, customer segmentation analysis, competitive research, content and communications strategies. Clients that have taken our advice include the NHS, Queens University of Belfast, Elsevier and Estee Lauder.
Rocky is also an accomplished trainer and public speaker and is often seen chairing industry events.
In her spare time, Rocky is a keen chef and loves creating Chinese masterpieces in the kitchen.
Marie, who is fluent in Chinese, heads up our inbound marketing division, managing and leading a team of account managers.
She joined us from a Chinese digital agency in Beijing. Marie brought with her in-depth knowledge of the Chinese digital landscape and experience in aiding European clients to enter and manoeuvre in the Chinese market.
This, coupled with Marie’s passion and ability to articulate to Western clients the opportunities and threats in China, makes her a real asset to our team.
Marie’s team is a regular contributor within the Trade Press and provides in-house training for clients.
